British Ribbon Tea Sandwiches

I found this recipe online and made it a little different...using just 3 slices of regular white bread and a tub of strawberry cream cheese. They make a yummy tea sandwich. The cream cheese I used was so soft that it was coming out the sides so we dipped one side in sifted powdered sugar to coat it.

(Ingredients are for one sandwich to be cut in 3 sections)
3 slices of firm, thinly sliced* white bread
2 slices of firm, thinly sliced wheat bread
3 tablespoons of strawberry-flavored (or your favorite) cream cheese
* Very thinly sliced bread can be purchased pre-packaged in most markets.

Spread the cream cheese on each bread slice as you stack them, starting with white, alternating white and wheat. Finish the sandwich with the final slice of white, pressing slightly so the layers all stick together. Cut the crusts from the slices of bread carefully with a bread knife. Save the crusts for the birds - or your favorite bread pudding recipe. Finally, cut the stack into 1 inch wide "fingers".
