I'm on a quest to cook healthier for my family which hopefully means that the recipes posted here keep getting healthier. I started out posting our old favorite recipes and now I'm sharing my new tried and true healthy recipes with you. I started this blog as a way to record our recipes for our children which I'll make into a book using Blurb. In the future we hope to make our recipes available to you in printed form.
who am I?
I'm a pastor's wife and homeschooling mom in my 30s. Serving my husband, managing my home, and caring for my family are my focus and joy. I love the color red, all things vintage, gardening, camping, books, and cooking of course. I collect old furniture, snack plates from the 50s, tea pots, tea cups, and I think a cake pedestal is a must in every home.
Have a healthy recipe for me to try? email me and if I try it I'll give you credit.
When I post

why cook?
"The person who decides what shall be the food and drink of a family, and the modes of it's preparation, is the one who decides, to a greater or less extent, what shall be the health of that family. It is the opinion of most medical men, that intemperance in eating is one of the most fruitful of all causes of disease and death."

That's funny - it's the same whisk that is in the Duktig toy cooking set at IKEA.
