I've been asked about how to reheat frozen meals. Some people avoid making freezer meals because then they wouldn't know at what temperature and for how long to reheat their meals. There are a few tips I'll share to reheating frozen meals.
1. you can pull the frozen meal out of the freezer in the morning and leave it on your counter so that it defrost all the way before cooking it for dinner. In that case, you would cook it according to the recipe directions. A little longer if it is still frozen a bit in the center.
2. you can cook it at the same temperature and length that an equivalent store bought frozen meal would be. For example, if you made a frozen uncooked lasagna then you could cook it the same way as a frozen lasagna from Costco. Or a store bought frozen quiche, or casserole...etc.
3. most things will do okay cooked at 350 degrees for about 45 min. If you leave yourself enough time ahead you can always keep it warm till ready to serve which assures you plenty of time on the front end. For example, if I'm going to cook a frozen casserole for dinner that I want to serve at 5-5:30pm, I'll go ahead and stick it in the oven at 350 degrees at 4pm so that I assure myself enough cooking time. You can also test for done-ness in the center by using a thermometer to see if it's reached about 160 degrees in the center.
4. allow a little extra time(15-30 min.) for frozen meals that are in a deep freezer instead of your kitchen freezer.
