I know this sounds strange but my mom came across these old fashioned recipes for making a beef roast with coffee. People remember their moms from yesteryear making roast this way. So, mom tried it and it was wonderful. You can't taste any coffee flavor at all but instead it gives a richness and tenderness that are wonderful. We had this the other night at mom and dad's house and it was yummy!
Add 2 cups of brewed coffee to your beef roast in the crockpot or dutch oven. Add the seasonings that you usually like to use. I use either a pack of Knorr onion soup or I use marinade packets or even just a sprinkling of Montreal Seasoning.
